Humankind is obviously a very mixed bag, woefully ignorant and wonderfully wise; generous and genocidal by turns. And yet, the first principle of Unitarian Universalism – to which our members accede and in which our children are tutored – affirms the “inherent dignity and worth of all persons. Simple, unqualified, unequivocal, absolute: each and every human being on this planet is, by nature and birthright, worthy and valuable. Given what Unitarian Universalism is about, this principle (and all of the other six UU principles) is open to discussion about what it means. In my reflection, I’ll offer thoughts, mine and others, about what the first principle means.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: During the first part of the service there will be a New Member Ceremony where eleven new members will be welcomed! Because of this, there will NOT be “Time for All Ages” or “Sharing of the Joys, Concerns and Sorrows” in this service. However, they will return in a future service.
